Happy National Intern Day! Today is dedicated to recognizing, empowering, and celebrating interns as they focus their time and effort on developing their skills as working professionals and prepare to enter the workforce as full-time employees.

To celebrate, we are excited to share what Extreme’s extraordinary and hardworking interns have accomplished this year.

Interns at Extreme have the opportunity to work on high-priority projects that provide valuable, real-world experience they may apply in their future careers and endeavors. Our internship program promotes the development of technical and soft skills, productive work habits, and the ability to navigate professional working environments, with the goal of enabling our interns to grow both in their fields of interest and as individuals.

Since restructuring the internship program in 2021, Extreme has retained 35 interns as full-time hires! We are so fortunate to have such a talented pool of motivated individuals who are as dedicated to innovation and as passionate about the networking industry as we are.

This year, our interns worked on impactful projects:

“My favorite project recently has been preparing video assets for Extreme Academy Live, our largest partner and seller event hosted in D.C. this year. I always enjoy creating content at Extreme that I then get to see put into action on large screens and at cool events!” - Gabe Rosenfeld, Video Production Intern, Temple University, Film

“A project that I have enjoyed supporting is the large-scale movement of equipment from the San Jose lab over to our Salem lab. This project involved configuring countless servers, guaranteeing secure connections and troubleshooting any issues that arose, allowing me to gain valuable experience as well as positive feedback from teams that use the equipment.” - Emin Ahmetovic, Lab Intern, Southern New Hampshire University, Computer Science & Machine Learning

“My favorite project at Extreme has been the EMEA Influencer Summit in Manchester last year. Pulling together an event like that takes a lot of coordination to ensure all the moving pieces came together and how well it turned out is a credit to how well the different teams at Extreme worked together.” - Alexander Sayler-Tait, Distribution and Digital Sales Intern

Immersed themselves in a positive working environment:

“My favorite part of my internship experience at Extreme has to be the people. From my coworkers to managers – even up to the executive team – everyone is down to earth, happy to support me and other interns, and are truly a pleasure to work with.” - Gabe Rosenfeld, Video Production Intern, Temple University, Film

“My favorite part of my internship this far has been attending a customer workshop that I was invited to. It was great meeting my new coworkers and learning more about the ExtremeCloud IQ platform. I have learned that it is fine to not understand everything and to ask others for help if I need it.” - Jimmy Ferchak, GTAC Intern, Southern New Hampshire University, Computer Science

“My favorite part about interning at extreme has been the opportunity to grow and learn new stuff every day at work. The people here are very welcoming and always ready to help you. My managers are very supportive, and they ensure that I get enough exposure to help me advance my career in the field of networking.” - Rushi Joglekar, Lab Network Engineer Intern, North Carolina State University, Computer Networking

"Working alongside such knowledgeable and experienced attorneys has been transformative for my career. In particular, being part of such a collegial and efficient team has made a lasting impression, which I hope to one day replicate in my work as an attorney.” - Gillian Spring, Legal Intern, Santa Clara University School of Law

“My favorite part about interning at Extreme is the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, giving me the chance to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects.” - Emin Ahmetovic, Lab Intern, Southern New Hampshire University, Computer Science & Machine Learning

“No one wants to see you fail. If I ever needed help or clarification people would always be there to support me without judgement, which makes Extreme such a great place to grow.” - Alexander Sayler-Tait, Distribution and Digital Sales Intern

And used their time at Extreme to develop skills that will prepare them for the future:

“The largest benefit of my internship at Extreme has been the monumental increase in my understanding of communication and organization. Through difficult projects, communication errors, and working with external teams I have grown my people skills in a way that will set me up for success in the future.” - Gabe Rosenfeld, Video Production Intern, Temple University, Film

“I have been provided with opportunities to grow and learn every day. The hands-on experience that I have gotten so far has really helped me understand the basic as well as the nitty-gritty concepts in this wide realm of networking and I am sure that this experience would prove to be beneficial going forward.” - Rushi Joglekar, Lab Network Engineer Intern, North Carolina State University, Computer Networking

“Interning at Extreme has provided me with the unparalleled experience of seeing the inner workings of an in-house legal department. I've had the chance to work on practical legal solutions for the business as compared to my theoretical practice in law school.” - Gillian Spring, Legal Intern, Santa Clara University School of Law

“Having mentorship and guidance from my colleagues has helped me develop a deeper understanding of the field and the practical skills necessary for a future in the networking and cloud computing industry.” - Emin Ahmetovic, Lab Intern, Southern New Hampshire University

“My Internship has helped me prepare for my career by helping me understand how large enterprises operate and how best to work within a larger organization.” - Alexander Sayler-Tait, Distribution and Digital Sales Intern

Thank you to our interns for choosing to learn and grow at Extreme, and a very happy National Intern Day to you all! We cannot wait to see where your experience here takes you.
