Introducing Phil Swain - Chief Information Security Officer and OCTO Team Member

The Office of the CTO at Extreme Networks extends a very enthusiastic welcome to Phil Swain, who joins the team. Phil has a 20-year background in security and serves as Extreme Networks’ Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Phil has insightful views about the future of security. And to paraphrase Phil’s words, “Within organizations, data is becoming more integrated. The end goal is to unify the user experience for customers and consumers. However, this creates numerous new security challenges.”

“The core philosophy of Zero Trust is based on identity. And as we move forward in the world, we will have to focus on identity to protect data.”
