Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) is a major healthcare provider spread across four different campuses throughout eastern Belgium. A small IT team of four is responsible for a range of technology areas, including the network, firewalls, voice infrastructure, and essentially anything related to communications. The legacy network was not built with scalability in mind, putting a significant burden on the already stretched IT resources.
The IT team looked for a new network solution that would increase mobility, flexibility, and operational efficiency and further enhance security posture to protect critical information like patient records or sensitive business data. By implementing Extreme Fabric, the Belgian healthcare provider achieved both, enabling smooth operation during the COVID-19 pandemic and a hospital merger.
